The Ventures (CEO Kim Chul-woo), an early-stage startup investment firm, is focusing on improving the investment attraction experience of portfolio companies and supporting substantial growth. It aims to discover the necessary values from the perspective of founders, build a practical support system, and provide value beyond investment.
The Ventures operates a system of financial support and uniform management support so that the startup team can focus on the essence of the business. In particular, it strengthens strategic support for urgent issues such as talent recruitment to enhance the competitiveness of portfolio companies and helps startup founders focus on their core business. It focuses on reducing difficulties that startup teams encounter during the growth process by deploying specialized personnel related to recruitment and networking and developing systematic services.
The Ventures’ recruitment support program is characterized by providing customized solutions tailored to the growth stage of startups. Human resources and management experts with extensive industry experience directly design the recruitment process and provide consulting support to secure the best talent.
Portfolio company recruitment support is largely conducted through △New hire/Internship talent pool △Senior talent pool. The new hire/Internship talent pool is comprised of talent from major domestic universities such as Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University, as well as top overseas universities such as California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and Stanford University. More than 500 people are registered, and more than 70 internship matches have been completed. In particular, the number of meetings that have been completed based on The Ventures’ own senior talent pool consisting of about 200 top-tier personnel is approximately 100.
In addition, we provide continuous feedback and follow-up management programs after hiring to help startups settle in and support entrepreneurs to focus on their core businesses.
“In order for startups to continue to grow, substantial follow-up support after investment is important,” said Baek Yeo-seon, manager in charge of recruitment, networking, and PR at The Ventures. “We plan to continue to strategically support recruitment, networking, follow-up investment linkages, and PR to create the optimal environment for portfolio companies to focus solely on their business.”
Some of the major portfolio companies currently recruiting include: △YOLO (cross-border commerce platform), △Dorcorporation (game play video sharing service), △Outcome (AI-based B2B potential customer discovery solution), △Crashcompany (consultation/reservation messenger for individual business owners), △Big Unclecompany (Dongdaemun wholesale market purchasing platform), △Byatt (creator SaaS-based fintech service), △Livivly (senior customized healthcare service), △DataC (B2B bio research product commerce), △Amersly (semiconductor manufacturing manufacturing intelligence solution), etc.
