Sejong Creative Economy Innovation Center and Sejong Joint Campus Operation Corporation Sign Business Agreement

Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation announced that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Sejong Joint Campus Management Corporation at 4:00 PM on the 26th at the Sejong Joint Campus Academic and Cultural Support Center to foster talent for regional revitalization and deep tech technology startups based on Sejong City's future strategic industries.

This agreement was promoted to actively utilize the resources of both organizations to foster talent in future strategic industries and activate the technology startup ecosystem in Sejong City, thereby realizing a model for fostering and growing convergent and integrated innovative talents, and to build a technology startup ecosystem based on industry-academia-research collaboration.

Sejong Joint Campus Operating Corporation Chairman Han Seok-soo said, “This agreement will be an important opportunity for Sejong Joint Campus and Sejong Creative Economy Innovation Center to build an industry-academia-research cluster model together and to contribute to the activation of the convergence education, research, and technology startup ecosystem,” adding, “We will promote various projects including future resident universities to contribute to the activation of the local economy and fostering of talent.”

Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation CEO Oh Deuk-chang said, “With this agreement, we expect that Sejong City’s future strategic industries will further develop through cooperation with the Sejong Joint Campus, and we expect that ‘Sejong-type deep tech open innovation’ will be activated through cooperation between Sejong City’s convergence and integration education and research and technology startups.” He also said, “We will work together with Sejong Joint Campus to devise joint projects for convergence and integration education and research and fostering technology startups, so that we can contribute to the development of national science and technology, revitalization of the local economy, and job creation.”

Sejong Joint Campus is a new model of future campus in which Hanbat National University, Korea University, Kongju National University, Seoul National University, Chungnam National University, Chungbuk National University, and KDIS are participating, and is creating an ecosystem centered on convergence education and research.

Meanwhile, the open innovation project began as a pilot project in 2023 and was fully implemented in 2024 through a business agreement between Sejong Special Self-Governing City, Sejong Creative Economy Innovation Center, and large and medium-sized enterprises. Sejong City and the Creative Economy Innovation Center plan to further expand the scope of the project in 2025 and strengthen the 'Sejong-type open innovation program' by cooperating with various organizations such as large and medium-sized enterprises, universities, hospitals, and public institutions in Sejong City.
