
ZEP, a metaverse-based edutech platform, announced on the 26th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) for mutual cooperation with the Edutech Teachers Research Association (CEO Dong-eun Kim).
The EdTech Teachers' Research Group is a teacher research group comprised of over 1,200 elementary and secondary school teachers and educational researchers nationwide. Its goal is to develop and share EdTech-related learning materials applicable to educational settings and to research related classes to create a sound class ecosystem.
This agreement was signed on the 25th with the attendance of Kim Sang-yeop, CEO of Jeb, Kim Dong-eun, head of the EdTech Teachers Research Association, and other related parties. The main purpose of the agreement is mutual cooperation in creating educational content for the creation of a metaverse-based education ecosystem and realizing innovative future education.
The two sides aim to strengthen educational capabilities through joint development of metaverse educational content, and have set the following as main activities: △creating customized educational content by subject and topic using Zep, △operating Zep-based classes and analyzing educational effectiveness, and △discovering and researching educational cases utilizing metaverse.
In addition, plans are in place to: △provide a metaverse learning space exclusively for teachers; △operate training and workshops for education utilizing JEP; and △hold seminars and hackathons for teachers and students.
Kim Sang-yeop, CEO of Jepp, said, “We signed an agreement with the Edutech Teachers’ Research Association to listen to the voices of the educational field where digital transformation is accelerating and to cooperate with each other,” and “Jep will continue to work to create a sound class ecosystem by utilizing the edutech technologies it possesses.”
Kim Dong-eun, head of the Edutech Teachers' Research Association, said, "Zep is a company that provided the foundation for classes utilizing the metaverse in Korea, and the Edutech Teachers' Research Association has continuously thought about the essential value of edutech education while utilizing Zep content." He added, "Through collaboration with Zep, we will broadly explore the possibilities of applying the metaverse to education and strive to increase the effectiveness of classes utilizing Zep."
