Beam Mobility, a personal mobility sharing service company, announced that it will provide its electric kickboard sharing service to 'Supermove', a K-MaaS platform hosted by the Metropolitan Area Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Supermove is a service platform for the K-MaaS pilot project, an integrated transportation service in Korea promoted by the Metropolitan Area Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It is characterized by allowing users to use major transportation methods in an integrated manner, including railways, airlines, subways, buses, and even PMs, which are considered essential public transportation for modern people. In addition to searching for the optimal travel route including all major transportation methods, it also provides real-time transportation method inquiry, reservation, and payment functions. Through this integrated service, PMs are expected to play a major role in supporting a dense transportation network as the last mile from metropolitan transportation to the metropolitan area and local areas.
Beam Mobility plans to provide an electric kickboard rental service on the Supermove app starting on the 25th. This will allow Supermove users to easily rent and pay for Beam Mobility electric kickboards within the app without having to sign up for a separate membership. They can also check nearby electric kickboards in real time through the app and check key information such as remaining battery level and driving distance in advance. Convenience has been further enhanced by supporting a simple return process after use.
A Beam Mobility official said, “We expect PM to play a key role in further increasing accessibility to PM services and building a dense integrated transportation network nationwide through linkage with the national integrated transportation service K-MaaS platform,” adding, “We will continue to expand linkage with various transportation methods such as railways and buses in the future and lead the construction of a smart mobility ecosystem and transportation innovation.”
