Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency, '2025 Data Stars·Data Global' Competition

The Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency (President Hye-Jeong Yoon) announced that it will hold a public contest for data-specialized support projects, DATA-Stars and DATA-Global, from February 25 to March 28.

'DATA-Stars' is a data utilization commercialization support project that discovers and fosters data-specialized startups. 'DATA-Stars' first started as the DB-Stars project in 2014 and has discovered and fostered 165 data-based innovative startups over the past 11 years.

Any startup within the past 7 years with a data utilization business idea can apply. 10 companies will be selected and provided with customized support specialized in data business for approximately 6 months, including ▲Business support fund (KRW 50 million) ▲Business pre-diagnosis ▲Data-specific consulting ▲Business mentoring ▲Data infrastructure support.

In addition, excellent services are selected through the final evaluation and awarded with the Minister of Science and ICT Award and follow-up prize money (up to 5 million won). Follow-up support such as investment linkage and consulting is continuously provided even after the project ends.

'DATA-Global' is a business that selects promising data companies and supports their overseas expansion through localization, overseas marketing, and overseas expansion specialized consulting. Since its launch in 2015, 'DATA-Global' has supported overseas localization projects and marketing activities of domestic data companies.

We provide localization and marketing support funds (KRW 50 million) to domestic companies that have data utilization solutions and services. We will select a total of 7 small and medium-sized enterprises and support them to create added value in various industries such as ICT, education, healthcare, finance, content, and manufacturing.

This year, just like last year, in addition to development and marketing support funds, we will operate an integrated support program for entering local markets, including ▲specialized overseas expansion consulting ▲support for discovering export demand ▲overseas expansion mentoring support.

Applications for each business will be accepted until 4:00 PM on March 28, and further details can be found on the Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency website.

“The data industry is a field where innovation and global expansion are essential amidst rapid changes in technology and market environments,” said Yoon Hye-jung, president of the Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency. “Through DATA-Stars and DATA-Global, we will provide practical and strategic support so that domestic data startups and companies can become globally competitive and establish themselves in overseas markets.”
