Thermo Fisher Scientific to participate in 'InterBattery 2025'

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (CEO Seok Soo-jin), a global science company, will participate in 'InterBattery 2025', the largest battery industry exhibition in Korea, held at COEX in Seoul from March 5 to 7. At this exhibition, Thermo Fisher will present an open innovation collaboration model for innovation in the battery industry and introduce advanced analysis solutions that can be utilized throughout the entire process from battery research and development to manufacturing, quality control, and process monitoring.

At this year’s InterBattery 2025, Thermo Fisher will operate a ‘Battery Customer Experience Center Zone’ where visitors can directly experience four battery experience centers with solutions for battery R&D, quality control and manufacturing processes, and receive consultation tailored to their customer needs.

At the 'Battery Customer Experience Center Zone', you can experience the innovative analysis technologies of ▲Customer Experience Center (support for battery research and quality analysis using chromatography, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopic analysis), ▲NanoPort Customer Innovation Center (support for battery structure and characteristic analysis), ▲Battery Advanced Solutions Center (support for battery-specific chemical analysis and application method development), and ▲Battery Customer Experience Center (support for process monitoring and real-time demos through inline analysis and control solutions).

Thermo Fisher experts will demonstrate analytical equipment based on battery data and suggest application methods applicable to actual research and production environments, and visitors can experience Thermo Fisher’s latest analytical solutions for each battery process. Key solutions include ▲ iCAP MSX Single Quadrupole ICP-MS, which increases the reliability of quality control from sample injection to analysis; ▲ Phenom Particle X SEM, which detects fine foreign substances and automates component analysis; ▲ MarqMetrix All-In-One Process Raman Analyzer, which provides accurate results through real-time, non-destructive process monitoring; and ▲ LInspector Edge In-line Mass Profilometer, which enables innovative 100% electrode mass distribution analysis.

Through the four Battery Experience Centers above, Thermo Fisher plans to create a venue for open innovation where application experts in each field will collaborate with customers to develop optimal analysis methods that can accelerate the development of next-generation batteries and help with efficient production.

On the second day of the show, March 6, Thermo Fisher will host a technical seminar at the Oakwood Premier COEX Center on the topic of “Unlocking Battery Potential with Analytical Solutions.” The seminar will highlight cutting-edge analytical case studies that assist in advanced material characterization and process optimization for next-generation batteries. Brandon Van Leer, Executive Director of Thermo Fisher Scientific Clean Energy, will present insights into battery materials development using a custom electron microscope workflow, while Thermo Fisher battery experts will discuss pretreatment-free solid sample analysis using multi-focusing optic laser inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS/MS), and dry cathode process optimization through mixing, extrusion, and rheology.

Seok Soo-jin, CEO of Thermo Fisher Scientific Korea, said, “While Thermo Fisher is participating in InterBattery for four consecutive years, this year is especially meaningful as we can present an open innovation collaboration model that supports and leads innovation in the battery industry.” He continued, “As a trustworthy technology partner, Thermo Fisher will continue to do its best to help leading companies solve challenges and achieve innovation across battery research, manufacturing, and aftercare.”

Thermo Fisher Scientific Korea’s exhibition booth is located in COEX Hall C, Room 420.

Meanwhile, Thermo Fisher currently operates four customer experience centers, including ▲Customer Experience Center ▲Battery Advanced Solutions Center ▲Battery Customer Experience Center in Suseo, Seoul and ▲Nanoport Customer Innovation Center in Giheung, Yongin, and provides various analysis solutions for battery research and manufacturing process innovation.
