
Bespin Global announced on the 24th that it has built and supplied a travel concierge AI agent specialized in domestic tourism to the Seoul Tourism Foundation. This project was developed to provide more sophisticated and personalized travel information to foreign tourists visiting Seoul.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, approximately 16.3 million foreign tourists visited Korea last year, and the number has been steadily increasing since the COVID-19 outbreak. The nationalities of the tourists range from various countries, including China, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States, and their preferred tourist attractions, restaurants, and experience programs vary depending on age and travel purpose. Accordingly, the Seoul Tourism Foundation felt the need for a travel AI agent that could provide more detailed and customized information to foreign tourists.
The travel concierge AI agent built by Bespin Global was developed through its LLM (Large Language Model)-based AI agent platform, 'HelpNow AI'. This AI agent provides ▲Q&A and summary of attractions, restaurants, hotels, performances, etc. ▲Recommendations for unique restaurants, things to do, and hotels ▲Creation of travel schedules by topic ▲Multilingual services including English, Japanese, and Chinese ▲Generative AI-based hybrid search function. The scope of multimodal and multilingual support will also be expanded through future service enhancements.
Bespin Global integrated various tourism content and public data portals of the Seoul Tourism Foundation, Korea Tourism Organization, and Seoul’s official tourism information website ‘Visit Seoul’, and designed a cloud-based generative AI application infrastructure based on this. Through this, various prompt engineering techniques were applied to provide more accurate and reliable answers to tourists, thereby increasing the accuracy of the answers.
In particular, the 'Advanced RAG (manual response generation)' method was introduced to control hallucination (provision of incorrect information) that may occur when introducing generative AI and to improve the quality of answers. This method is characterized by automatically collecting and preprocessing tourism information provided by Visit Seoul, and configuring a customized knowledge data creation workflow that meets the needs of actual tourists. In addition, this AI agent supports five languages, including English, Japanese, and Chinese, and can quickly provide answers to multinational tourists.
HelpNow AI is an LLM-based AI agent platform that can develop and operate chatbots, callbots, voicebots, AI assistants, etc. optimized for each industry sector. It provides multi-LLM linkage, RAG-based answer generation, and multi-agent management functions, allowing efficient use of massive data. This platform is being successfully utilized in various industries such as energy, education, public, manufacturing, and customer service.
“Since the Seoul Tourism Foundation operates an AI agent targeting foreign tourists, we were required to develop a service that provides accurate and abundant tourism information,” said Na Jeong-woo, team leader at Bespin Global, who oversaw this project. “Based on not only HelpNow AI’s technological prowess but also our experience developing AI services specialized in various industries, Bespin Global was able to lead AI technology innovation in the tourism industry by collaborating with the Seoul Tourism Foundation.” He added, “We will continue to develop AI services specialized in each industry and lead digital innovation in various industries.”
