Human In Motion Robotics, a robotics subsidiary of KOSDAQ-listed company Benot & R (CEO Jib-Hoon Jeong), announced that it had been officially invited to the '2025 Invictus Games', the World Veterans' Games held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada on the 16th (local time), and presented its humanoid exoskeleton robot XoMotion™ at the closing ceremony.
The Invictus Games are an international multi-sport competition for military service members and veterans who have suffered injuries, disabilities, or illnesses. Invictus means “unconquered” in Latin, and symbolizes the determination and achievement of soldiers who overcome injuries or illnesses and take on challenges. The games were founded by Prince Harry, who served in the Afghanistan War, and have become an international event held every two years since the first games in 2014.
Human In Motion Robotics was officially invited by the organizers of the event to perform a robot demonstration at the closing ceremony. Chloë Angus, a paraplegic and an ambassador for ExoMotion, attended the demonstration. Chloë held the large official flag of the event with both hands and walked by herself without any help, handing the flag to the event officials.
Human in Motion Robotics’ ExoMotion is a next-generation wearable robot that can improve the freedom of movement and rehabilitation treatment effects of people with lower body disabilities by applying 12 innovative actuators that resemble human lower body joints and a hybrid parallel hip joint mechanism. In particular, ExoMotion’s intelligent software is designed to precisely control complex interactions between humans and robots.
Above all, Exomotion is characterized by its self-balancing technology that allows it to naturally implement forward, backward, left, right walking and turning movements in a hands-free state. It is receiving global attention for helping people with lower body paralysis or stroke patients overcome the limitations of their disabilities and contribute to restoring their independence. At CES 2025 held in January, it won an Innovation Award in recognition of its technological prowess and was also included in the 50 Best Products of CES selected by the American media outlet USA Today.
An official from Human in Motion Robotics said, “Chloe’s steps at the Invictus Games received much applause as they demonstrated Exomotion’s innovative technology while also containing the meaning of supporting the lives of those with mobility impairments.” He added, “We will continue to expand our sales channels by creating various opportunities related to the medical field and communicating with market participants and experts.”
Meanwhile, Benot & R is collaborating with Human in Motion Robotics and Human in Motion Robotics Asia to continuously release robot products and services that will improve the quality of human life with differentiated technologies and is promoting the wearable robot business with the goal of becoming a cutting-edge robot company that leads the global market.
