The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will begin accepting applications for the '2025 Venture and Startup Promotion Merit' award on the 21st to discover those who have contributed to the revitalization of venture and startups.
The 'Venture Startup Promotion Merit' Award has been held annually since 1997 to encourage the innovative spirit of excellent venture and start-up companies that are the main players in Korea's innovative growth.
▲It consists of 10 sectors in 4 areas: ▲Venture Activation ▲Investment Activation ▲Entrepreneurship Activation ▲Support Organizations.
In particular, this year, the ‘Overseas Korean Venture Company’ and ‘Overseas Korean VC’ categories were newly established to recognize those who have contributed to raising the status of Korea in the overseas venture and investment sector.
The scale of the awards is 182 in total, including 39 government awards such as medals, decorations, and commendations from the President and Prime Minister, and 143 commendations from the Minister of SMEs and Startups.
Those who wish to receive a reward can apply through the K-Startup website from February 21 to March 21, 6:00 PM.

Kim Bong-deok, director of venture policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “We will actively encourage entrepreneurs and investors who have contributed to revitalizing the private-led venture investment ecosystem, as well as employees of support organizations who have contributed to establishing sustainable venture support policies.”
