
The Korea Blood Poetry Development Institute (KMDP) and Hallym University announced on February 20, 2024 that they signed a business agreement to spread the culture of hematopoietic stem cell donation.
This agreement was signed primarily to actively promote the importance and participation of hematopoietic stem cell donation to the 2030 generation, who are the age group that registers to donate. The business agreement ceremony was held at the Nice Call Center of Hallym University, and the agreement ceremony was attended by KMDP Management Support Department Director Jang Jin-ho, Donation Promotion Team Director Park Ri-na, Manager Son Seung-wan, Hallym University Industry-Academic Cooperation Director Lee Ju-sang, Nursing Department Dean Lee Gyeong-nam, Department Head Kim Seung-joo, Department Head Kim Hyeon-a, Professor Heo Yeon-jeong, and Professor Nam Hye-ri.
KMDP and Hallym University first met in 2019 during an on-campus campaign led by Nursing Department student Yujin Lee, who was a member of the KMDP College Supporters Group. Since then, they have continued to interact with the Nursing Department's volunteer club 'Padam Padam' and have conducted on-campus campaigns. In the process, Hallym University has recruited a total of 336 donors over the past six years, and has achieved the results of recruiting 100 in 2023 and 122 in 2024. In response, the Korea Blood Poetry Stem Cell Bank Association awarded Hallym University with a plaque of appreciation and a letter of appreciation as an excellent institution for recruiting donors.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to jointly promote various campaigns and educational programs to promote hematopoietic stem cell donation.
KMDP Director Jin-ho Jang said, “Through this agreement, we expect that more people will recognize the importance of hematopoietic stem cell donation and participate in registering their wish to donate. We will continue to work with various universities to promote donations.”
