Apex AI Attracts Strategic Investment

Apex.AI, a safety certification software company for mobility and software-defined vehicles (SDVs), announced that LG Electronics has made a strategic investment in the company. This investment is an extension of Apex.AI’s Series B funding round, and LG Electronics becomes Apex.AI’s first strategic investor (SI) in Korea.

Apex.AI is a scalable, advanced safety-certified software solution provider for the mobility industry, playing a key role in accelerating the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The company’s flagship product, Apex.Grace software framework and development kit, seamlessly integrates proven automotive hardware with next-generation software architectures and is a key enabler of SDV development.

“We are thrilled to have LG as a strategic investor,” said Jan Becker, Apex.ai’s co-founder and CEO. “This investment underscores the critical role that software-defined vehicle technology will play in future mobility and validates the scalable and production-ready solutions that Apex.ai offers. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with LG and accelerating innovation in the global marketplace.”

This investment follows Apex AI and LG Electronics’ announcement of a technical collaboration on software-defined vehicle technology in late 2024. As the importance of software-defined vehicles is increasingly emphasized, this case is evaluated as another example that highlights the essentiality of integration with proven automotive hardware. LG Electronics’ investment is expected to strengthen Apex AI’s existing strategic partnerships with major global automotive OEMs and suppliers, and further solidify Apex AI’s position in the industry.

With this investment, Apex AI plans to expand its influence across multiple regions and industries, while providing essential software solutions to companies seeking to adopt software-defined vehicle technology.
