Limpid acquires freeze-dried feed production facilities and sales rights of 'Attifood'

LIMPID, a bio-pet food company, announced that it acquired the core production facilities and sales rights of domestic freeze-dried feed manufacturer Attifood in November 2024 and began full-scale operations.

Limpid is the first company in Korea to develop freeze-dried prescription feed, overcoming technological barriers to entry in the existing market, and is also receiving attention in the global market. The freeze-drying method developed by Limpid has far superior nutrient preservation and palatability compared to the existing extrusion method, and provides a solution optimized for chronic disease management in companion animals. Based on this differentiated technology and production infrastructure, Limpid plans to officially launch 'Dr. Trusty', the world's first freeze-dried prescription feed brand, in February 2025.

This acquisition is expected to be an important opportunity for Limpid to grow beyond a simple feed manufacturer into a bio pet food company encompassing pet nutrition and clinical research. Limpid has also established a joint venture with Kyungpook National University to launch Korea’s first feed clinical trial (CRO, Contract Research Organization) institution and is currently pursuing the development of high-quality products that have undergone scientific verification. Through this, Limpid is fully implementing a vertical integration strategy encompassing not only feed manufacturing but also precision nutrition formulation, clinical research, and production.

Kim Hee-soo, CEO of Limpid, said, “Through this acquisition, Limpid has secured independent production capabilities and has established a foundation for strengthening R&D and clinical verification,” adding, “In particular, the fact that Doctor Trusty, in addition to Trusty Food, is produced in this factory means that Limpid is simultaneously securing technological innovation and market leadership in the pet food industry.”
