PetNow announced on the 20th that it has been selected for the 'Unleashed 2025' program hosted by Nestlé Purina. The program, which is in its 6th year this year, is a global accelerating business that supports innovative pettech companies in the pet industry in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. It is operated for 20 weeks every year to help pettech startups innovate and grow. The name 'Unleashed' has the ambiguous meaning of "release the leash" and "unlock potential."
PetNow has been selected for an accelerating project with the participation of major companies such as Samsung Electronics, POSCO, Nvidia, and Google Korea, and through this mentorship from Purina, it plans to seek synergies in B2C and B2B businesses in the European market by utilizing the network, market insights, and consumer big data of the global pet care business division. Pettech startups from various countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, and Brazil were selected for this program, and PetNow is already in the process of signing a business contract with one of them.
PetNow won the Best Innovation Award at CES 2022, a global IT exhibition, for developing AI technology that automatically recognizes the nose print of companion dogs and the faces of companion cats and takes clear, high-speed photos. In addition, it has been steadily working to overcome the limitations of microchip identification methods by attracting a cumulative investment of 6.9 billion won and participating in the Ministry of Science and ICT's regulatory sandbox demonstration special case and the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA)'s Testbed Seoul demonstration support project.
“We are delighted to be selected for the Unleashed by Purina program, which provides a significant stepping stone for our entry into the European market,” said PetNow CEO Jun-ho Lim. “We will improve our product market fit in Europe and establish ourselves as a leader in pet biometric solutions.”
