
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will recruit small business owners to participate in the '2025 Strong Small Business Growth Support Project (Online Seller and Global Type)' from March 4 to March 13 to support small business owners who want to grow into entrepreneurial online sellers or expand their business areas into overseas markets by developing creative items based on an entrepreneurial spirit.
The Strong Small Business Growth Support Project is a project that supports small business owners to grow into entrepreneurial small business owners by developing differentiated products and services through collaboration with partner companies such as creators, startups, and small business owners in different industries.
The online seller type (Track II) is an online seller training program that utilizes online sales and education infrastructure owned by Naver, Kakao, etc., and is conducted at each stage of growth ('basic → advanced → practical'). The global type (Track III) is a program that supports the overseas expansion and localization of small business owners with the ability to enter overseas markets through expansion and specificity of product lineups, branding and design, and participation in overseas exhibitions.
A detailed look at the support contents by type is as follows.
▲ Online Seller Type (Track II): 250 companies selected through the announcement will receive basic and advanced training on AI tool practice, marketing solution strategies, and selling techniques operated by Naver and Kakao. Outstanding trainees will receive up to 50 million won in commercialization funds and practical training based on separate evaluations, so that they can develop and utilize services and products optimized for online.
▲ Global Type (Track III): 70 teams selected through the announcement will go through a team building program and then go through the first audition. The 35 teams selected through the first audition can receive up to 60 million won in business model advancement funds. The 10 teams selected through the final audition, which is held for companies that passed the first audition, can receive an additional scale-up fund of up to 40 million won, for a total of up to 100 million won.
In addition, the Gangwon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, the main organization for the online seller type, and CNT Tech Co., Ltd., the main organization for the global type, will utilize their human and material resources (infrastructure) to provide support for various specialized programs, such as childcare spaces, online seller and global capacity assessments, pop-up stores, and direct and indirect investments for participating companies.
Lee Dae-geon, the director of the Small Business Policy Bureau, emphasized, “Along with the recent popularity of Korean Wave content, the popularity of small brands created by small business owners in various fields such as beauty, food, fashion, and daily necessities is increasing,” and said, “We will actively support entrepreneurial small business owners who are lifestyle and local brand innovation companies so that they can expand their markets online and overseas and grow into global brands.”
