
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will recruit startups to participate in the 2025 Startup Leap Package Support Project from February 20 to March 13.
The Startup Leap Package Support Project is a project that supports companies that have been established for more than 3 years but less than 7 years (hereinafter referred to as ‘leap-stage startups’) to overcome crisis situations (death valleys) caused by sluggish sales and lack of funds and make a leap forward.
This year, a total of 373 startup companies will be selected, and we will provide customized startup support programs necessary for scale-up of startup companies in the leap stage, such as investment attraction and global expansion, along with commercialization funds required for product development, prototype production, and market development.
The '25-year Startup Leap Package' can be applied for by selecting one of the three types: 'General', 'Large Business Collaboration', and 'Parallel Investment', depending on the amount of funds required and the method of commercialization.
First, companies selected for the 'general type' will receive commercialization funds (up to 200 million won) required for prototype production, intellectual property rights acquisition, and business model (BM) improvement, as well as customized startup support programs provided by each hosting organization.
In addition, among the 'general type' types, you can additionally apply for the 'success return type' within the budget range. If you are selected for the 'success return type', you can receive an additional support of up to 50%* (maximum 100 million won) of the basic support project cost, up to a maximum of 300 million won.
'Large-company collaboration' is a program that helps startups that wish to collaborate with nine large corporations, including KT and LG Electronics, with product development, commercialization, and overseas market entry by utilizing the large corporations' professional manpower and infrastructure. In addition, commercialization funds (up to 200 million won, average of about 130 million won) can also be supported.
Lastly, companies selected as 'investment-parallel' will receive commercialization funds (up to KRW 200 million, average KRW 150 million) and additionally receive matching investment (up to KRW 200 million) from Korea Venture Investment Corporation (KVIC) in the form of SAFE (conditional equity acquisition agreement).
Meanwhile, various on-site business briefing sessions are being prepared to introduce the '25-year startup leap package project. On February 27, nine large companies will hold briefing sessions and on-site consultations to introduce collaboration areas and support contents related to 'large company collaboration type.'
Additionally, each hosting organization will hold on-site business briefing sessions introducing the '25-year program' by type from February 25 to March 7.
Applications and submissions are accepted until 4:00 PM on March 13th on the K-Startup website . After application submission, the final selection of support recipients will be made through document and presentation evaluation.
