
The Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereafter referred to as the Gyeongbuk Center) announced that it successfully held the 'K-Local Grand Meet Up' event at the Stanford Hotel Andong on the 18th. This event was designed to share the purpose and vision of the 'Gyeongbuk Local Change Up Project', which is in its third year this year, and to discuss fostering sustainable local content based on local resources. In particular, it was planned with the goal of creating a sustainable ecosystem through networking between local creators and local innovation entities.
The event began with a congratulatory speech by Director Jeong Seong-hyeon of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Government Policy Bureau, followed by ▲announcement of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Change-up Project's 2024 performance and 2025 business plan ▲presentation of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor's Award for Local Creators ▲introduction of Gyeongsangbuk-do local creators ▲presentation of representative local content cases.
The Gyeongbuk Local Changeup Business Vision and 25-year Business Introduction presented a more advanced direction, including training local planners who can discover local resources, fostering representative local brands in Gyeongbuk, expanding to developing distinctive local content at the regional level by linking local resources, and creating a local ecosystem through establishing local governance.
Gyeongbuk Province awarded the Gyeongbuk Governor's Award to 'Blue and Road Agricultural Corporation', which developed a traditional distilled liquor using fruits, a specialty of Cheongdo, in recognition of its contribution to the economic revitalization of the Gyeongbuk region and to encourage innovative attempts by local creators.
In addition, Chungju Gwanagol Sesangsanghoe CEO Lee Sang-chang and Yangyang Surf Beach Laon Surf Resort CEO Park Jun-gyu shared a sustainable growth model for the local economy and community through a special lecture on local content town and local industry development cases, and presented a vision for the growth of Gyeongbuk companies.
In addition, the Gyeongbuk local brand exhibition and experience zone was operated throughout the event, and the region's creative local business models were introduced, receiving a great response from local related organizations and local governments.
Lee Moon-rak, the director of the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “Through this event, I hope that Gyeongbuk’s excellent local creators and innovators can interact with each other and build a sustainable regional ecosystem,” adding, “We will actively support Gyeongbuk’s diverse resources so that they can establish themselves as local content and lead the local era.”
