Investment specialist accelerator CNT Tech (CEO Jeon Hwa-seong) was selected as the best hosting organization in 2023 in the early startup package run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute for Startups and Entrepreneurship Development.
The Early Startup Package is a support project run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development. It is a representative startup support project in Korea that selects universities and public/private organizations with excellent startup infrastructure as the main organizations to support early startups within 3 years of establishment with promising startup items. Selected startups can receive customized support for item verification, investment attraction, and market development, along with up to 100 million won in commercialization funds.
Since 2020, CNT Tech has been participating as the host institution of the Early Startup Package for five consecutive years, supporting the stabilization and growth of early startups. In particular, as a private host institution, it has actively utilized its infrastructure through investment resources for selected startups and linkages with large corporations. Through this, it has fostered a total of 124 startups over the past five years, and has recorded a cumulative investment amount of approximately KRW 17 billion, including direct investment of KRW 3.45 billion during the agreement period, sales of KRW 140 billion, KRW 14.3 billion in startup support business linkages, and 602 new jobs. In particular, in 2024, it supported direct and indirect investment attraction of KRW 3.3 billion for 12 fostering companies and TIPS linkages for eight companies, helping them overcome the investment cold spell. Based on these achievements, CNT Tech was selected as the best host institution of the Early Startup Package twice, in 2021 and 2023.
CNT Tech CEO Jeon Hwa-seong said, “This selection as the best organization is the result of CNT Tech’s continuous efforts to support startups,” and added, “In 2025, as the main organization of the early-stage startup package, we will discover and foster promising early-stage startups and, through active support, contribute to activating the investment ecosystem and securing fund liquidity.”
Meanwhile, CNT Tech has achieved the largest investment for five consecutive years, utilizing investment resources of over 130 billion won to execute a cumulative investment of 70 billion won. In 2024 alone, it will carry out 109 cases of early-stage investment worth a total of 21.5 billion won, and the cumulative portfolio number has reached 470. In addition, as an operator of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' TIPS business, it has achieved the result of linking 79 TIPS programs annually, and has linked a total of over 233 startups to the TIPS program to date.
The application period for the 2025 Early Startup Package Support Project is from February 24 to March 11 on the K-Startup website, and CNT Tech plans to discover and foster a total of 23 startups this year.
