Air France-KLM Martinair Cargo has signed its first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) partnership with Triple Crown and domestic consolidator.
Triple Crown is a leading air cargo transportation company established in 2020. It provides differentiated one-stop total services from warehouse operations to air exports, air charter services, customs clearance, and delivery. Despite its early establishment, it has established itself as the second largest consignment company in Korea and has grown into a top 3 company in the industry.
The SAF program partnership signing ceremony held at the Dutch Embassy in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 18th was attended by key officials including Beatrice Delphew, Air France-KLM Martinair Cargo Korea-Japan Regional Headquarters, Pater van der Vleet, Dutch Ambassador to Korea, and Park Cheon-gil, CEO of Triple Crown.
The SAF program is an eco-friendly program introduced by Air France-KLM Martinair Cargo in 2020, which supports logistics companies and shippers around the world to operate some flights with SAF. Participating companies can estimate the carbon emissions generated during air cargo transport and provide a contribution of the desired amount. Air France-KLM Martinair Cargo will disclose its operational status so that the contribution can be used to procure SAF.
Through this partnership, Triple Crown can expect to reduce carbon emissions by at least 65% compared to existing fossil fuels. In addition, it will receive an annual third-party verification audit report that includes the estimated carbon emissions reduction achieved through participation in the program and the amount of SAF purchased based on its cargo transport volume. Based on this, both companies plan to contribute to raising awareness and activating SAF in the domestic market.
“We are very pleased to have signed our first SAF partnership with Triple Crown, a domestic consolidator,” said Beatrice Delphew, Regional Director for Korea and Japan at Air France-KLM Martinair Cargo. “Based on this, we will work to reduce our environmental footprint and increase sustainability within the air cargo transport industry.”
