InnoSimulation (CEO Cho Jun-hee), a company specializing in digital twin-based XR (eXtended Reality) solutions, announced on the 17th through a public disclosure that it had won a contract for Hanwha Aerospace’s ‘Weapon System Operation Training Development Project.’ Through this project, InnoSimulation plans to provide Hanwha Aerospace with virtual training equipment that implements actual weapon system functions.
This is the result of receiving recognition for its technological prowess from its clients through the successful execution of the 'Weapon System Operation Training Development Project' worth 1.8 billion won, which it received from Hanwha Aerospace in 2023. The company explained that prior to this order, it had also received an order for a weapon system training project worth approximately 950 million won from Hanwha Aerospace in January, and that it is currently in discussions for additional orders, so it appears that it will be able to achieve meaningful results in the first half of this year.
InnoSimulation combines its own XR technology with virtual training equipment to build a virtual mission environment and implement a digital twin environment identical to operating an actual weapon system, allowing users to experience tactical situations similar to actual combat. Compared to existing physical training, it is increasingly being introduced in military training solutions as it offers advantages in terms of cost reduction and enhanced safety.
An official from Innosimulation said, “This order is significant in that it means that our technological prowess has been recognized by Hanwha Aerospace, a leading domestic defense company,” and added, “As additional orders are currently being discussed, we will actively advance into the weapons system operation training field in the future and work to ensure that this business can become a new growth engine.”
He added, “We expect to achieve meaningful growth this year as we have secured meaningful orders one after another at the beginning of the year. In the future, we plan to expand the scope of application so that the XR-based training system can be utilized not only in national defense but also in public safety fields such as police, firefighting, and disaster response.”
Meanwhile, Innosimulation signed a contract with Hyundai Rotem to supply tram simulators to Alexandria, Egypt, in January. This is Innosimulation’s first overseas expansion into the tram simulator business. Hyundai Rotem supplies trams to several countries, including Egypt, and Innosimulation’s simulator technology is expected to play an important role in the global tram market in the future.
