
Noh Chung-sik, former head of the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform Center, has been inaugurated as the 5th head of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center .
The center announced that it officially began its work with an inauguration ceremony on the 17th. The term runs from February 17, 2025 to February 16, 2027, and it will be responsible for fostering the Gyeongnam startup ecosystem.
CEO Noh Chung-sik graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Korea University and received his master's degrees in business administration and economics from Michigan State University and the Korea Development Institute's School of Public Policy and Management. He worked at the Bank of Korea for about 30 years, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprise financial support, statistical compilation, and survey research. From 2021, he served as the director of Gyeongnam Techno Park for two years, contributing to the growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises. From 2024 to the present, he is known to have contributed to establishing a system in which local universities, research institutes, and companies can cooperate to directly cultivate and supply talents needed for local industries.
CEO Noh Chung-sik stated that based on his experience to date, he applied to be the head of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center because he believed that there is a need to fundamentally resolve the unfortunate situation in which talented individuals are leaving the region and to innovate the startup ecosystem that will lead future new industries by utilizing the industrial power of our region.
In his inauguration speech, he expressed his ambition, saying, “By enhancing the support of the Creative Economy Innovation Center, we will advance the consistent support system for the entire startup cycle to lead scale-up and direct investment, expand startup infrastructure and diversify cooperation to promote open innovation, and lead regional startup networks to strengthen collaboration among startup ecosystem members and expand regional specialized programs.”
