Caring, Kakao Healthcare Sign Business Agreement

Senior care specialist Caring Co., Ltd. (CEO Taesung Kim) announced on the 17th that it signed a business agreement with Kakao Healthcare Co., Ltd. (CEO Hee Hwang) to develop a customized healthcare model for senior housing.

Through this agreement, the two companies will collaborate on ▲developing a health management system for senior housing residents using Kakao Healthcare's blood sugar management solution 'Pasta' at senior housing facilities operated by Caring, ▲linking hospital treatment based on personal health information (PHR·Personal Health Record), and ▲establishing a customized medical cooperation system for the elderly.

Caring currently operates 54 direct branches nationwide, including day care centers, home care centers, and nursing assistant training centers, and has directly cared for a total of 16,000 seniors. Recently, based on its know-how in caring for the elderly, it has entered the senior housing business, and last month opened 'Caring Stay', an urban paid nursing facility in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Caring plans to first apply Kakao Healthcare's 'Pasta' to Caring Stay and develop a systematic health indicator management system for data-based hospital treatment linkage. In addition, it plans to collect residents' opinions to explore ways to utilize digital healthcare solutions and expand the introduction to senior housing facilities nationwide.

Kakao Healthcare's 'Pasta' is an AI-based mobile blood sugar management solution that has received Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) approval. It helps with real-time blood sugar monitoring using a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device and managing personal health information such as meals, weight, exercise, medication, and sleep.

Kim Tae-seong, CEO of Caring, said, “Systematic health management practices using digital healthcare solutions at Caring Stays, which are equipped with a balanced diet, exercise facilities, etc., can greatly contribute to ‘well-aging.’” He added, “We will strive to strengthen medical infrastructure partnerships so that residents can receive efficient medical services based on health data as well as support their daily health management.”

Meanwhile, Caring is strengthening medical partnerships in the local community to improve the accessibility of medical services for the elderly. Last year, it signed a business agreement with THE Seonyo Hospital under the Gapyeong Medical Foundation to establish a 'one-stop medical and nursing system', and is currently working with Seo-on Nursing Hospital to improve customized medical services for the elderly.
