Kibo holds seminar on '2025 Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Transaction Activation Support Project'

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the “KIBO”) announced that it held an information session on the “2025 SME Technology Transaction Activation Support Project” for SMEs, technology transaction organizations, universities, public research institutes, and other technology transfer organizations at the Seoul Station Space Moa seminar room on the 13th.

This briefing session, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and organized by Kibo, was designed to provide detailed information on the outline and operation plan of the support projects being implemented this year, and was attended by approximately 100 people, including SMEs and related organizations that are promoting commercialization through technology transfer. Kibo had time to resolve questions from policy project demanders about eligibility, application methods, and schedules through customized explanations and Q&A sessions.

Meanwhile, as an organization dedicated to technology transactions and commercialization for small and medium-sized enterprises, KIBO has been carrying out the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'SME Technology Transaction Activation Support Project' since March 2022, and plans to secure a total budget of 3,146 million won this year to support open technology innovation of small and medium-sized venture enterprises through the Technology Transaction Infrastructure Creation Project and the Technology Transaction Commercialization Integrated Support Project.

The Technology Transaction Infrastructure Development Project is an infrastructure construction project to activate technology transactions between technology suppliers and technology demanders. It supports ▲technology transaction supporters ▲global technology transfer ▲production of technology description materials (SMK, Sales Material Kit), etc., and supports brokerage fees and technology value assessment costs to alleviate the cost burden on small and medium-sized enterprises in the process of introducing external technology and to provide appropriate technology transaction price information.

The Technology Transaction Commercialization Integrated Support Project is a project that supports customized services for all stages from technology introduction to commercialization of SMEs. SMEs selected for the integrated support project can receive support for ▲transfer technology commercialization consulting ▲various costs such as prototype production, testing, and certification required for transfer technology commercialization ▲secondary security financial benefits for KIBO’s IP acquisition guarantee, etc. In particular, starting this year, the commercialization support amount will be significantly increased (KRW 210 million for core companies, KRW 110 million for general companies) to provide focused support so that the selected companies can strengthen their technological competitiveness.

Small and medium-sized enterprises and technology transaction organizations wishing to participate in the “Support Project for Activating Technology Transactions for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” can apply online on the website of KIBO’s technology transaction platform, “Smart Tech Bridge.” Further details can be found in the business announcement posted on the website.
