The Innovation Division was attended by experts from various fields that make up the startup ecosystem, including public institutions, associations, and organizations, and private players.
This kickoff meeting was held under the theme of ‘Global Technology Trends and Recent Venture Investment Trends’, reflecting the recent rapid technological changes taking place globally. Professor Hyosung Ahn of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology and CEO Dongmin Kang of Murex Partners gave presentations, and experts from each field then gave presentations on startups and ventures.
It suggested various necessary policy tasks.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to closely review the policy tasks raised at today’s kickoff meeting and hold monthly subcommittee meetings to continue to periodically monitor trends and discover additional tasks.
In his congratulatory remarks, Vice Minister Kim Sung-seop emphasized, “Amid the rapid winds of change blowing through the global startup ecosystem, Korea is also at a time when constant reflection and new innovation are needed,” and said, “Starting with today’s kickoff meeting, we plan to continue in-depth discussions on various topics that make up the Korean startup ecosystem.”
