Union Community, ODM supply to Japan Electric Co., Ltd.

Union Community Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Yo-sik) , a biometric security solution company, announced that it will supply a total of 2.5 billion won worth of biometric terminals to Nippon Electric Co., Ltd. (NEC), a leading IT service and social infrastructure company in Japan. By supplying terminals developed as NEC’s ODM model, it has secured a stable sales base in Japan, and supplies to NEC are expected to become a key sales channel in Japan in the future.

Union Community has conducted joint development with NEC's partner, KYOEISHA Co., Ltd. of Japan, and through this, has developed and supplied NEC's customized biometric terminals, UBio-N Face Pro and UBio-N Face Mini.

Union Community completed the NEC ODM development and completed the first supply of approximately 500 million won in November of last year, and will conduct the second supply of approximately 2 billion won in February of this year. With the supply of 2.5 billion won secured in just three months, sales growth for NEC is expected to accelerate further this year.

Both products supplied by Union Community to NEC are equipped with NEC’s face detection engine and support server authentication through NEC server authentication algorithm. In addition, high expandability is realized through linkage with NEC platforms such as NEC’s Bio-IDiom Services. UBio-N Face Pro is a face authentication terminal with body temperature measurement function, and provides QR code authentication using QR reader option and attendance management function through hand gesture recognition. UBio-N Face Mini is a compact face authentication terminal without a display, and can be installed and operated efficiently in various environments due to its small space.

In particular, Union Community plans to further strengthen its cooperation with NEC based on this ODM supply model to establish a long-term supply system in the Japanese market, thereby laying the foundation for stable sales growth.

Jang Myeong-hun, president of Union Community, said, “This contract has served as an opportunity to secure a stable sales route in the Japanese market, rather than simply a one-time export for NEC.” He added, “We will further expand our cooperation with NEC in the future to achieve continuous sales growth in the Japanese market, and use this as a stepping stone to strengthen our competitiveness in the global market.”
