Hansae Yes24 Cultural Foundation, '4th Humanities Research Support Project' Competition in progress

The Hansae Yes24 Cultural Foundation (Chairman Baek Su-mi) announced on the 13th that it will hold a public contest for the '4th Humanities Research Support Project'.

The 'Humanities Research Support Project' is a project that the Hansae Yes24 Cultural Foundation has been promoting since 2022, and aims to revive the value of the humanities and support marginalized fields. The foundation selects 10 domestic pure humanities researchers every year and provides research funds worth 120 million won per year. In the 3rd competition last year, 200 studies were received, and 10 studies were selected in various fields such as Northeast Asia, religion, artificial intelligence (AI), art, and literature.

This contest is open to those who hold a doctorate or higher in various fields of humanities other than social sciences, such as ▲linguistics ▲literature ▲philosophy ▲history ▲art history, and so on, domestic and international university lecturers and professors, and researchers affiliated with research institutes. In addition, research experience of publishing at least two main author papers in KCI-listed journals or international academic journals (A&HCI, SCOPUS) within the past five years is required.

The 4th Humanities Research Support Project will be open for applications from May 1st to 12th, and research plans can be submitted through the Hansae Yes24 Cultural Foundation website. The evaluation will be conducted in a blind evaluation format, and the evaluation results will be announced on the foundation website in August.

Baek Soo-mi, the chairman of the Hansae Yes24 Cultural Foundation, said, “Despite the advancement of science and technology, humanities knowledge has become more important for the development of our society,” and “Through this project, we hope to revive the important value of humanities and provide deep reflection on areas where technical problem solving is difficult.” She added, “We will continue to spare no support for the development of humanities in Korea.”
