Wave Company Participates in Japan's ASPN Sports Technology Accelerator Program

WaveCompany has officially been invited to the ASPN (Asia Sports Tech Pioneer Network) sports technology accelerator program held in Tokyo, Japan, marking the beginning of its full-scale entry into the global sports tech market. This invitation was prompted by WaveCompany being selected as the ‘Global Winner’ in the HYPE SPIN accelerator program in 2020.

The ASPN Sports Technology Accelerator Program is a global program that supports the growth of startups that combine sports and cutting-edge technology. It provides mentoring, networking, and funding opportunities to participating companies, and provides strategic support for entering the global sports market. The program was attended by major investors including Incubate Fund and sports industry insiders, and each company showcased their technology at the demo show held on February 6.

Wave Company unveiled ‘TracMe’, a fitness solution utilizing strain soft sensor (TracSil) at this demo show. This technology is gaining attention in the global sports and healthcare market as it can precisely measure joint angles and effectively monitor movements. It also has high potential for use in various fields such as rehabilitation treatment, elderly healthcare, and industrial environment monitoring, and has attracted the attention of many buyers.

Wave Company is accelerating its global market expansion through its participation in this program. After winning the Innovation Award in the Digital Health category at CES 2024, its technological prowess was also recognized at MEDICA 2024 in Düsseldorf, Germany and ISPO 2024 in Munich. Currently, active discussions are underway on collaboration with major buyers in the US and Europe.

In addition, Wavewear UK established a branch in the UK in January and began to expand into the European market in earnest. In particular, it is focusing on the UK market targeting the global fitness race HYROX. At the recent HYROX competition held in Turin, Italy, Tommy, an ambassador who wore Wavewear products, came in third place, proving the effectiveness of sponsorship marketing.

HYROX is an indoor fitness race that started in Germany in 2017, featuring a unique competition format where participants run 1km and then perform various exercise stations. It is currently rapidly gaining popularity among fitness enthusiasts around the world, and Wave Company plans to actively target this market.

“Participating in the ASPN Sports Tech Accelerator program has allowed us to further strengthen our competitiveness in the global sports tech market,” said Wave Company CEO Jona Yeon. “As the wearable and smart fitness markets are growing rapidly, we will continue to innovate to ensure that Wave Company can lead the global market.”
