Sejong Center, Sejong Startup Innovation Fund No. 3 Formation

Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Oh Deuk-chang, hereinafter referred to as Sejong Center) established Sejong Startup Innovation Fund No. 3 on the 12th to expand the fund for investment activation of early-stage startups with support from Sejong City.

The newly established fund, 'Sejong Changgyeong-Reventures Innovation Growth Fund No. 1', is jointly managed by Reventures (CEO Kim Na-kyung), which has achieved over 30 billion won in operating assets since its establishment. Through this fund, Sejong Center plans to discover tech-based startups and actively support the scale-up of companies by linking Reventures with Tips R&D funds and follow-up investments.

In particular, we plan to drive the growth of companies with innovative technologies and business models by focusing on deep tech startups in specialized industries that Sejong City focuses on, such as quantum technology, AI big data, and bio-healthcare, as our main investment targets.

In addition, this fund will not stop at simple financial investment, but will also play a strategic role in activating the local startup ecosystem. The Sejong Center plans to strengthen its role as a hub that promotes business linkages between large and medium-sized companies and startups by encouraging active participation from senior entrepreneurs. Local senior companies such as Lake Materials also participated as LPs in this fund, and the plan is to provide a platform that creates an environment where local innovative companies can continue to grow.

CEO Oh Deuk-chang said, “The venture investment market is currently difficult, and Sejong City’s investment fund track record is also lacking, but Sejong Center will continue to provide support to lead strategic investment results for local startups,” and emphasized his ambition by saying, “Starting with this fund, we plan to sequentially form the 4th and 5th startup innovation funds to further solidify Sejong City’s startup ecosystem.”
