Salesforce announced on the 12th that its Data Cloud was named a leader in both the B2B and B2C areas in the IDC MarketScape Customer Data Platform (CDP) sector. In this report, IDC explained that Data Cloud has strengths in market growth potential, AI and data governance, close connectivity with the Salesforce platform, data-based predictive and generative AI capabilities, and data security and encryption technology.
Salesforce's Data Cloud is an integrated data platform that helps enterprises collect and analyze distributed customer data in real time. This platform helps enterprises eliminate data silos and make data-driven decisions based on accurate customer insights through Zero Copy Integration technology and an integrated metadata layer. It also supports the effective implementation of AI agents.
IDC evaluated that data cloud meets the data utilization needs of B2B and B2C markets. In the B2B sector, the ability to analyze and segment customer information based on AI through organic connection with CRM and marketing solutions was mentioned as a differentiating strength. In the B2C sector, real-time data integration and AI analysis capabilities were evaluated as core competitiveness, and data cloud was highly evaluated for its value as an integrated platform that provides consistent customer experience across marketing, sales, service, and commerce.
IDC also emphasized the synergy between Data Cloud and Salesforce's AI agent platform, Agentforce. Agentforce helps perform tasks according to business situations and customer characteristics based on real-time customer data provided by Data Cloud. Companies can quickly build AI agents without going through a complex data integration process, thereby providing customized customer services and reducing data management costs.
Salesforce Korea CEO Son Bu-han said, “This IDC evaluation is significant in that it recognizes that Data Cloud is playing a key role in implementing AI agents beyond a simple data integration platform,” adding, “Salesforce will continue to work to maximize the value of data and support AI agent-based innovation.”
