Digital platform specialist Platier announced on the 12th that it has established a Japanese corporation, ‘Plattier Japan,’ as a bridgehead for full-scale overseas business expansion.
Through the establishment of a Japanese corporation, Platire plans to introduce various e-commerce solutions, including its AI-based personalized marketing solution (SaaS), ‘groobee’, and AI e-commerce solution ‘X2BEE’, to the Japanese market and expand its business.
Lee Bong-gyo, head of the Data Solution Business Promotion Team, has been appointed as the new CEO of Platior Japan. The CEO is a Japan expert who majored in IT business at Keio University. Based on his experience in successfully launching and developing Groovy in Korea, he will provide e-commerce solutions tailored to the Japanese market and aim to strengthen global competitiveness.
“Japan’s e-commerce market size is expected to reach approximately $169 billion (KRW 249 trillion) in 2024, and while it is growing every year, the e-commerce rate is less than 10%, which is slow. This means that the Japanese market has great potential,” said CEO Lee Bong-kyo. “Large Japanese companies are also actively introducing and utilizing SaaS, and are particularly interested in generative AI technology. Traditional distributors and brands centered on offline sales channels are actively reviewing the D2C (Direct to Commerce) model, so demand for Platier’s martech and e-commerce solutions is expected to be very high,” he added.
In order to penetrate the local market, Platire Japan plans to collaborate with major IT companies in Japan, including VNEXT Japan (CEO: Shuhei Mori) and primeNumber (CEO: Yuki Tabe). VNEXT Japan is a comprehensive IT software development company that has completed over 700 projects for over 350 clients, and primeNumber is a company that provides cloud data integration technology (SaaS) to over 2,000 companies, from startups to large corporations. Platire Japan plans to cooperate with these local partners to build a sales network targeting Japanese corporate clients and to improve and enhance solutions that meet the needs of local companies, thereby achieving rapid and successful market entry and results.
Lee Sang-hoon, CEO of Platire, said, “Based on the technology and experience that Platire has accumulated so far, we plan to continue to challenge overseas markets including Japan. Through this, we expect to further advance our business performance and solidify the company’s growth.”
