The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSRE, President Jin-yeop Eom) announced that Incheon Environmental Corporation (Chairman Gye-woon Choi) obtained Human Rights Management System (HRMS) certification.
On the 10th, a ceremony to award the Human Rights Management System certificate and certification plaque was held in the conference room of Incheon Environmental Corporation, attended by Director Eom Jin-yeop of the Small and Medium Venture Business Certification Institute, Director Choi Gye-un of Incheon Environmental Corporation, and officials from both organizations.
The Human Rights Management System Certification is a certification system developed in accordance with the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) so that it can be applied to organizations such as companies, institutions, and groups based on the International Declaration of Human Rights and the National Human Rights Commission's Human Rights Management Guidelines.
Incheon Environmental Corporation has established a human rights management foundation since 2018 to achieve its mission of realizing an advanced human rights culture and its vision of becoming an environmental public corporation that grows together with its customers. To this end, it has implemented a mid- to long-term roadmap aimed at systematizing and improving human rights management.
As detailed goals for human rights management, we set 100% implementation of the checklist and zero human rights violation incidents. We also made continuous efforts to protect and promote human rights, including establishing related standards, designating a human rights management officer, and implementing Human Rights Management Day.
In order to objectively verify such management activities, Incheon Environmental Corporation received external recognition for its human rights management activities by undergoing a human rights management system certification audit from the Small and Medium Venture Business Certification Institute, a government-affiliated specialized certification agency.
Chairman Choi Gye-woon said, “As an environmental expert organization, our corporation will do its best to establish and spread human rights management.”
Director Jin-Yeop Eom said, “This certification by Incheon Environmental Corporation will serve as a compass pointing the direction of human rights management not only to Incheon City-affiliated and -funded organizations but also to environmental companies and related organizations.”
Meanwhile, the Small and Medium Venture Business Certification Institute is a public specialized certification and evaluation organization under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups established with investment from the Small and Medium Venture Business Agency. It is carrying out various projects such as ISO certification, certified company education and training, certification auditor training, ESG management level diagnosis, and labor-management cooperation certification.
