Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as Gyeongbuk Center) and DB Insurance have joined forces to support local startups struggling due to the global economic downturn and to promote open innovation.
On the 7th, at the DB Financial Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Gyeongbuk Center Director Lee Moon-rak, DB Insurance Headquarters Director Shim Jin-seop, and other related officials attended to promote a business agreement and discuss cooperation plans between the two organizations.
This agreement was created to jointly operate an open innovation placement program with DB Insurance based on the startup planning capabilities and startup network of Gyeongbuk Center and to support technology verification (PoC: Proof of Concept) between selected startups and DB Insurance.
Through this, Gyeongbuk Center and DB Insurance plan to continue joint operations and cooperation to promote open innovation, such as discovering and nurturing deep-tech startups and expanding collaboration opportunities between DB Insurance and local startups.
In 2024, Gyeongbuk Center and DB Insurance conducted a program for technology verification (PoC) with local startups, providing startups with opportunities to apply and verify their technologies in the actual business environments of large corporations. In the process, DB Insurance confirmed the business applicability of startup technologies and explored new growth opportunities.
Lee Moon-rak, director of the Gyeongbuk Center, said, “Through this agreement, we will spare no effort in providing practical support so that local startups can be competitive in a wider market,” and “We will continue to cooperate with various companies to build a sustainable innovation ecosystem.”
