L'Oréal Korea X Ministry of SMEs and Startups X Startup Promotion Agency, Recruiting Participating Companies for '2025 L'Oréal Big Bang'

L'Oréal Korea announced on the 10th that it is recruiting startups with digital and innovative technologies to participate in the 2025 'L'Oréal Big Bang' program as part of the <Global Corporate Collaboration Program> conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (hereinafter referred to as the MSS) and the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development.

The 'L'Oréal Big Bang' startup incubation program is an open innovation initiative run by the L'Oréal Group in North Asia, a program that discovers and incubates promising startups with innovative technologies applicable to the beauty industry. Starting in China in 2020, it will expand to include Korea and Japan in 2023, and Hong Kong and Taiwan in 2024, expanding its influence throughout Asia.

In Korea, the program is being carried out annually based on the business agreement signed between the L'Oréal Group and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in June 2023, and from this year, it will be operated through the <Global Corporate Collaboration Program> hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development. L'Oréal Korea plans to select and support up to four promising startups with innovative technologies in the digital and beauty fields.

This year, the 'L'Oréal Big Bang' program's recruitment areas are divided into two: research innovation and digital. In the research innovation area, ▲medical-based beauty solutions ▲skin and scalp anti-aging biomarker solutions are being recruited, and in the digital area, ▲market data and BI service solutions ▲AI-based beauty and shopping personalized services ▲content analysis-based recommendation services are being recruited.

The selected startups will receive support from L'Oréal in the form of mentoring, consulting, marketing, and networking, and will also have opportunities to demonstrate their technologies within the L'Oréal brand. They will also receive up to KRW 200 million (average KRW 125 million) in commercialization funds and customized specialized programs from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Samuel du RETAIL, CEO of L’Oréal Korea, said, “Over the past two years, I have been greatly inspired by the innovative technologies and ideas of the Korean startup ecosystem,” and added, “This year as well, I hope to work with promising Korean startups with the latest innovative technologies to produce results that will help promote Korean innovation to the world.”

Companies wishing to participate in the program should check the <2025 Global Collaboration Company Program Startup Company Recruitment Notice> on the K-Startup website and apply online by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26.
