Google Play is recruiting developers to participate in the 7th 'Window Program' to support the growth of mobile app and game startups from the 7th to the 26th.
'Changgu', which has established itself as a representative support program for small and medium-sized developers in Korea, is a program operated by Google, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development to help mobile app and game startups grow and advance into the global market. This year marks the 7th year of the program.
The mobile app and game startups selected for this 7th Window will participate in various programs from Google Play that will help them enter overseas markets and do business. Specifically, these include ▲'Window Growth Support Seminar' on topics that will help with business growth, such as monetization and marketing strategies, ▲Invitations to seminars and workshops that share Google's latest insights and technology information, ▲'1:1 In-depth Consulting' tailored to the stage of corporate service, such as overseas market strategy, advertising monetization, and infrastructure expansion, ▲'Window Alumni Day' that provides an opportunity to network with Window graduates, leading domestic and foreign venture capitalists, and publishers, ▲'Global Immersion Program' as a global training opportunity, and ▲'VC Office Hour' where you can consult with major domestic and foreign venture capitalists on investment attraction.
In particular, this year, AI education and support programs have been newly added, ▲establishing a 'Changgu AI Study Jam' session that includes AI-themed online and offline education, seminars, workshops, and office hours. In addition, ▲opportunities to be selected first for the 'Google for Startups Accelerator (GFSA): AI First' accelerator program that supports the growth of AI and machine learning (ML)-based app startups, and ▲'cloud credits' that can be used for app development and distribution are also provided.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups provides up to 200 million won in commercialization funds, and selected excellent companies can participate in brand advertisement video production and performance campaigns provided by Google Play. In the case of the three developers who participated in the brand campaign in 2024, the cumulative number of views on YouTube was 15 million, and the 10 developers who participated in the performance campaign achieved a real marketing effect, recording an advertisement conversion rate of approximately 20%.
The 7th Window Program targets mobile app and game developers with less than 7 years of experience as of the announcement date, or mobile app and game developers based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology with less than 10 years of experience. Related announcements can be found on the K-Startup Startup Support Portal, and applications for participation can be submitted from February 7 to February 26, 2025 on the same website.
