Spring Camp invested in Wand, a company that provides patent search and analysis services using AI. Wand was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' technology startup support program 'TIPS' in December 2024.
Wand provides an all-in-one solution that supports various patent-related tasks such as patent search, specification writing, and patent analysis through its self-developed Patsol service. This service includes AI-based patent search technology, specification writing support functions, and portfolio and competitiveness analysis functions, helping experts and companies handle patent tasks more efficiently.
CEO Han Sang-ho, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and his master’s degree from Yonsei University, founded Wand based on his experience working as a patent examiner and a patent search engine development and management manager at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. He said, “Through my experience at the Korean Intellectual Property Office, I experienced the chronic problems of the patent market and developed an innovative solution that introduced AI technology to solve them.”
Wand has achieved significant results in just three months since its establishment. After attracting seed investment from Spring Camp within a month of its establishment, it was officially recognized for its technological prowess and market potential by being selected for the TIPS program in December. TIPS is a program that provides R&D expenses and commercialization funds to startups with technological prowess, and Wand plans to receive up to 700 million won in support through this to strengthen its R&D of AI-based patented solutions.
Springcamp’s director, Gyeongpyo Koh, evaluated Wand as “a startup with differentiated technology and market potential in the fusion of AI and patent search, and it has great potential in the global market.”
