AI infrastructure solution company MOREH (CEO Kang-won Cho) was introduced as a global AI startup that is attracting attention with the emergence of China's DeepSeek.
British venture media outlet Global Corporate Venturing (GCV) introduced China's Moonshot AI, France's Mistral, Canada's Cohere, Israel's AI21 Labs, and Germany's Aleph Alpha as promising AI startups outside the US that have received support from corporate investors in an article titled, "Global AI startups outside the US competing with Silicon Valley giants."
Citing data from global market research firm PitchBook, the company also said that while more than eight times as many investments are being made in North American AI and machine learning startups as in other regions, the emergence of DeepSec clearly shows that AI innovation does not necessarily have to be led by Silicon Valley.
In the article, GCV introduced Korea's Moreh as the startup that came closest to DeepSec's approach. Moreh developed software that allows users to build and optimize their own AI models using a more flexible modular approach, and said that it can run on a much wider range of GPU chips than Nvidia's software.
That means using Moreh's software means organizations can find cheaper chips to build their AI infrastructure, and it's compatible with machine learning frameworks from Nvidia, Meta and Google, he added.
GCV (Global Corporate Venturing) is a British media company that holds global CVC networking and investment information exchange events in the US, Europe, Asia, etc. every year. In Korea, they have also held various events in conjunction with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, such as the Global CVC Conference and the largest startup event in Korea, 'Come Up'.
