Unity to host 'Unite Seoul 2025'

Unity (NYSE: U), the world's leading real-time 3D content creation and growth platform, will host 'Unite Seoul 2025' on April 15th at the COEX Grand Ballroom and ASEM Ballroom in Seoul.

'Unite' is Unity's representative global developer conference that travels around the world, and this year it will be held under the slogan 'Create Today, Grow Tomorrow'. This year's 'Unite Seoul 2025' will present a diverse and inspiring program, including the Unity engine roadmap and latest features presented by Unity global experts, and around 30 technical sessions covering various fields.

One of the highlights of this year's 'Unite Seoul 2025' is the 'Unite Seoul X Indie Project' program. This is a special program where indie game creators can proactively participate in the event, providing speeches and on-site showcase opportunities for projects developed directly using Unity. Through this program, Unity plans to showcase various win-win models while actively supporting indie game creators to communicate more closely with users and experts and share insights.

In particular, the developer who wins first place in the showcase will be given a cash prize, a nomination for a future 'Unity Award', and the opportunity to be selected for a special program where Unity experts will directly assist with project development. Applications for the 'Unite Seoul X Indie Project' are open until the 27th of this month.

There will also be a postmortem of a project that is gaining attention based on Unity, and a session introducing features utilizing the latest Unity engine. First, the Odyssey development team will share the development of the soul-like game 'Belaster'. 'Belaster' is a fierce 3D side-scrolling action battle game that takes place in the Middle-earth 'Malum', and the small development team will introduce their experience and methods of effectively utilizing the Unity engine for development. Eunseop Shim, CEO of 'Lizard Smoothie', an indie game development team that pioneered the unique genre of MOBA roguelike, will also be a speaker. 'Lizard Smoothie's' representative project 'Shape of Dream' has been well-received for its high-difficulty action and high-quality 3D graphics, and the session will introduce AI, Unity gaming services, and multiplayer-related content utilized for efficient game development.

In addition, Com2uS's Minseon Oh, Graphics and Engine Programmer, and Jinhong Kim, Technical Artist, will introduce a custom SSAO case using 'Render Graph' of 'Unity 6' and the development process of 'Unity Render Pipeline Custom Shadow Solution (URP Custom Shadow Solution),' and explain how to effectively apply it to projects.

In addition, there will be sessions where Unity experts with innovative project development and production experience will share core technologies and know-how to maximize visual effects. Gary Boyle, Unity Partner Engineering Manager, will lead a session titled 'Unity's VFX: Best Practices', where he will present usage cases and feature enhancement guides for Unity's particle system, 'VFX Graph'. In addition, Keijiro Takahashi, Unity Senior Advocate, will introduce six essential packages and key features that are useful for improving the creative process in the session '6 Powerful Packages for Successful Unity Art Projects'. Based on real-life usage cases, he will provide insights into how these tools can contribute to achieving better results in projects.
