The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jong-ho Kim, hereinafter referred to as KIBO) announced on the 5th that it held the '2025 First Management Strategy Workshop' at its Busan headquarters with executives, managers, and national sales branch managers in attendance.
This workshop was organized under the theme of ‘Overcoming the Crisis, Towards the Future!’ to review last year’s management performance and share ‘25-year key tasks’, and through presentations and discussions on ▲Kibo’s current issues and future plans ▲Kibo’s specialized generative AI demonstration ▲global business promotion plans, the role of Kibo for a new leap forward amidst changes in the internal and external management environment was discussed.
Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said in his opening remarks, “The growing uncertainty in the domestic and international economic environments is posing a huge risk factor for our economy and small and medium-sized enterprises.” He urged, “Kibo should proactively respond to the rapidly changing management environment and more actively fulfill its policy role to overcome the crisis of small and medium-sized venture enterprises and promote their growth.”
Last year, Kibo increased its guarantee supply by 2 trillion won compared to the original plan by expanding the new supply of guarantees for securitized companies and focusing on providing support for key areas such as new growth and youth entrepreneurship, and supported the innovative growth of small and medium-sized venture companies amid the global economic crisis by leading the IPO of four companies through active guarantee-linked investments in areas such as startups, local governments, and new industries (semiconductors, robots, and engineering). In addition, it contributed to the creation of a voluntary technology innovation ecosystem in the private sector by establishing the Technology Evaluation Open Platform (hereinafter referred to as 'K-TOP') and laying the foundation for its use.
This year, we will focus our capabilities on new industries, small and medium-sized enterprises with technology, and youth entrepreneurship to take the lead in revitalizing the people's economy, while continuing our efforts to revitalize open technological innovation through measures such as the advancement of K-TOP, joint brokerage of technology transfer with private intermediaries, and support for M&A of small and medium-sized enterprises. We will also faithfully fulfill our role as the 'No. 1 specialized institution for supporting venture companies' by strengthening our venture policy research function and supporting venture companies through venture company support projects such as the Kibo Venture Camp and the Global Unicorn Project.
