The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced on the 3rd that it will be conducting the second public notice for the 2025 ‘SME Innovation Voucher Support Project’ (hereinafter referred to as the Innovation Voucher Project).
The Innovation Voucher Project is a project that aims to strengthen the innovation capacity of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and enhance their market competitiveness by providing customized services such as consulting, technical support, and marketing.
This second announcement is to recruit companies in need of the 'regional growth voucher' type among the five types of innovation voucher projects. We plan to provide customized vouchers to the Legend 50+ project participating companies (KRW 17 billion) and the regional traditional manufacturing local autonomous type (KRW 2 billion) to promote innovation and growth.

◆ Support for Legend 50+ participating companies (regional specialized project-linked voucher)
The regional specialized project-linked voucher is intended to support participating companies in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' representative regional SME growth model, the 'Legend 50+ Project', and this year, it plans to provide support worth 17 billion won.
This is an increase of 3 billion won from 14 billion won last year, reflecting the fact that the number of Legend 50+ projects increased from 21 to 37 amid high interest and response from the local area, and the number of participating companies increased to around 500.
Companies participating in the Legend 50+ project can receive support quickly through simplified procedures, such as exemption from on-site evaluation, and can utilize customized services for each company, such as consulting, technical support, and marketing.
◆ Promoting the strengthening of regional industry competitiveness such as traditional manufacturing (regional autonomous voucher)
The local autonomous voucher aims to restore and strengthen the competitiveness of local traditional manufacturing and key local industries, and is expected to provide support worth approximately 2 billion won this year based on a program planned by the Local SMEs and Startups Agency (hereinafter referred to as the “Local Agency”).
In particular, this year, each regional office is seeking ways to support local small and medium-sized enterprises in resolving their manpower shortages through cooperation with global universities, which is expected to help not only solve short-term problems but also strengthen the industrial base in the long term.
Kim Woo-joong, the director of local enterprise policy, said, “We have pursued a major business reorganization this year to improve the service quality of the innovation voucher project and to manage the project transparently and systematically,” and “We will actively support small and medium-sized enterprises so that they can effectively solve core tasks such as developing new technologies, building brands, and increasing exports through the innovation voucher project.”
