Music investment platform Music Cow has formed a strategic partnership with global comprehensive entertainment company 'Roc Nation' and has begun the countdown to launching its US service.
Music Cow has signed a partnership agreement with Roc Nation in the US. As a strategic shareholder who has acquired a 15% stake in Music Cow US, Music Cow’s US subsidiary, Roc Nation will continue to work closely with Music Cow US services with the goal of building a healthy music ecosystem through copyright sharing.
Roc Nation, a company owned by 'Godfather of Hip Hop' Jay-Z, is building a diversified business network and infrastructure through a wide range of business operations including music and sports management, publishing, and live performance planning. It is well known in Korea for world-famous artists such as Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and DJ Khaled, and based on its excellent planning and casting skills, it has also garnered attention for successfully hosting the halftime show of the 'Super Bowl', the National Football League (NFL) finals, known as the greatest show on earth, for several years.
Roc Nation, which prioritizes the development of a sustainable music industry, agreed with Music Cow’s business vision of presenting a new future for the music industry through a music copyright market in which everyone participates, and decided to enter into this partnership.
Music Cow plans to expand the value chain of the cultural finance industry through collaboration with Rock Nation, which has extensive experience and infrastructure in various fields including record production and marketing.
In particular, with the support of Rock Nation, we will focus on securing super IPs by producing albums. Music Cow is planning a project to release a collaboration album between top artists from both countries this year. Leading producers in the U.S. will participate in the project to support securing high-quality IPs. The music sources that will be released simultaneously worldwide are also planned to be released as investment products on the Music Cow platform in the future.
A Music Cow official said, “We have high expectations to be able to work with the best partner with tremendous experience and resources at a time when we are at an inflection point in leading the global cultural finance industry by entering the U.S. market, the world’s largest cultural market.” He added, “We will do our best to ensure that the collaboration between our two companies produces maximum synergy, with the goal of building a healthy music ecosystem where fans and artists can create together.”
