ICT specialist company Ucube (CEO Kim Jeong-beom) and quantum security specialist company EWIL (CEO Jeong Bu-seok) announced on the 1st that they have signed a business agreement (MOU) for strategic business cooperation. The two companies plan to expand the scope of their cooperation to target the public, defense, and medical security markets.
This agreement is to jointly develop a next-generation security backup solution called 'CUBE i Q-Vaults (tentative name)' that combines UCUBE's data backup and integrity verification technology with IWAYEL's quantum random number generator (QRNG) and quantum-resistant cryptography (PQC) encryption technology.
'Cube-iQ Bolts' applies the Kyber and Dilithium algorithms, which are being standardized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States, to provide stable encryption strength and key distribution security even in a quantum computer environment. It aims to overcome the limitations of traditional encryption methods such as RSA and ECC and to provide safe data protection even in the quantum computer era.
Through this agreement, the two companies will cooperate not only in joint product development but also in marketing and sales strategies, and aim to launch ‘Cube iQ Bolts’ in the second half of 2026. Starting in the second half of 2025, they plan to fully launch joint marketing activities such as pilot projects, seminars, and exhibition participation, focusing on the government procurement market and the defense sector.
“As the introduction of quantum-resistant cryptography accelerates in the public, defense, and medical sectors, the market for related security solutions is growing rapidly,” said Kim Jeong-beom, CEO of Ucube. “Through our collaboration with EYL, we will maximize the effects of winning large-scale projects and dominating the market.”
“Based on this collaboration, we will focus on commercializing quantum security technology and expanding sales by combining the technological prowess and experience of both companies,” said Iwayel CEO Jeong Bu-seok. “We will further strengthen our competitiveness in the domestic quantum security market.”
