Schneider Electric named 'World's Most Sustainable Company 2025'

Schneider Electric (Kwon Ji-woong, CEO of Korea), a global company leading the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has been selected as the 'World's Most Sustainable Company 2025' by Corporate Knights, a Canadian investment advisory and economic media group. Schneider Electric has been ranked first for the second time since 2021, and is the only company to have ranked first in the Global 100 Index twice.

Schneider Electric's recent achievements are yet another proof of the company's efforts to make sustainability a core value. In particular, ESG management leadership, such as gender diversity in management and the board of directors, and the provision of energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions, played a major role. In addition, efforts to reduce the correlation between business growth, energy consumption, and carbon emissions, as well as sustainable R&D investment, were highly evaluated. The company was also positively evaluated for linking the management's performance compensation system with sustainability.

The 'Global 100' index, published by Corporate Knights every year, analyzes ESG performance of listed companies with sales of more than $100 million worldwide. Schneider Electric has been included in the Global 100 for 14 consecutive years and has a record of entering the top 10 in the electrical equipment manufacturing industry seven times.

“Sustainability is more than just a goal; it is at the core of our business and what inspires our employees,” said Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric. “This award demonstrates that Schneider Electric’s commitment to a sustainable future is having a positive long-term impact.”

“Schneider Electric is helping businesses around the world transition to sustainability with technologies that improve energy efficiency and support decarbonization,” said Toby Heaps, CEO of Corporate Knights. “Having ranked number one on the Global 100 twice is a testament to their extensive ESG practices.”

Schneider Electric's award this time is evaluated as an indicator of the success of the 'Schneider Electric Sustainability Impact (SSI)' program that started in 2021. The program aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) presented by the United Nations, and Schneider Electric has been publishing the progress of the program in a dedicated report every quarter since 2021. This provides a major driving force for achieving the ESG goals by 2025 and is the cornerstone for achieving global and domestic sustainability goals.

Through this, it was selected as number one in the 2024 World's Most Sustainable Leading Companies announced by Time magazine and data company Statista last year. Schneider Electric plans to continue its innovative efforts in the ESG field for sustainable growth in the future.
