Daejeon Innovation Center, '2025 K-Space Startup Summit' held

The '2025 K-Space Startup Summit', hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo) and Daejeon Metropolitan City (Mayor Lee Jang-woo) and organized by the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Park Dae-hee, hereinafter referred to as Daejeon Innovation Center) , will be held at the Daejeon Startup Park Headquarters (Gung-dong, Yuseong-gu) at 2 PM on the 3rd.

This event will bring together approximately 120 people, including startups, investors, research institutes, and policy agencies that will lead the future of the domestic space industry, to create a platform for cooperation, and is planned as an open innovation hub event for the space industry that connects policy, technology, and business.

Daejeon Innovation Center held the 'K-Space Startup Summit' for the first time at the end of last year to create a foundation for organic exchange between domestic space industry startups, investors, and research institutes, and as a result, the number of participating institutions in the Space Alliance has expanded to approximately 80 as of now.

The second summit this year is based on this foundation and is further expanded in scale and content, focusing on increasing practical business cooperation and commercialization linkages between private partners. In particular, this event, planned by the local government, is drawing attention as a representative example of the self-sustaining growth of the space industry startup ecosystem centered around Daejeon.

This summit event will feature speakers from experts from the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, KAIST Space Research Institute, Company K Partners, and Boryeong Co., Ltd., to give lectures on a variety of topics, including ▲space policy and industry promotion plans ▲sharing of cases of transition and investment in space startups.

It also consists of a three-party business agreement (MOU) between Daejeon Innovation Center, Context, and iSpace, 1:1 meetups between pre-matched startups and investment firms/companies, open innovation meetings with private partners, and discussions on practical business cooperation through topical roundtables.

Daejeon Innovation Center CEO Park Dae-hee said, “This summit provides a practical opportunity to connect with the entire industry so that space startups can realize their technology and vision,” and added, “We will create a sustainable space industry ecosystem where the public, private, and research sectors grow together, centered around Daejeon.”
