Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency (President Yong-seok Tak, hereinafter referred to as Gyeongconjin) announced on June 30 that it signed a three-party business agreement (MOU) with Hwaseong City and Ins Edutainment Co., Ltd. to promote the '2025 Gyeonggi Regional Specialized Content Development Support' project. The agreement signing ceremony was held at the Maehyang-ri Peace Memorial Hall in Hwaseong City, and was attended by Gyeongconjin President Yong-seok Tak, Hwaseong City Second Vice Mayor Seung-moon Cho, and Ins Edutainment Co., Ltd. CEO Bong-hyeon Seo.
This agreement was carried out as part of public-private cooperation to increase the utilization of local cultural assets through content development utilizing the historical resources of the Hwaseong region and to contribute to tourism resource development and economic revitalization.
According to the agreement, Hwaseong City will provide historical materials and exhibition space necessary for content development, and Insedutainment will plan and produce experiential content based on this. Gyeongconjin will support a total of 110 million won in production costs along with overall business operation.
The 'Kuni Shooting Range', the main material for content development, is a place that was used as a bombing training ground by the US military in Korea in the past, and is currently the Maehyang-ri Peace Memorial Hall that conveys the meaning of peace and coexistence. The newly developed content will be produced in a way that allows visitors to experience it with an immersive feel, reflecting the historical and symbolic nature of the place. The completed content is scheduled to be released to the public after a trial run in the second half of 2024.
Kyungkonjin Director Tak Yong-seok said, “This will be an opportunity to reexamine the meaning of a place and expand its cultural value through content that contains the region’s unique history and identity,” and added, “I hope this project will have a positive effect on changing the perception of Maehyang-ri and the growth of the local content industry.”
