Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as 'Incheon Center', CEO Lee Han-seop) announced on July 1 that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with the Chengdu High-Tech District Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center (hereinafter referred to as 'Ssangchang Center') in China.
This agreement is the first renewal in about seven years since the first one was signed in 2017, and the two organizations plan to lay the foundation for Korean startups to advance into western China by expanding the scope of cooperation and strengthening practical support for companies.
The Ssangchang Center operates the 'Korea-China Startup Innovation Park' and the 'Korea Product Trade Center' within the Chengdu High-Tech District, and provides support for all aspects of commercialization, including support for Korean companies' move-in, market entry, exhibition, and distribution.
Chengdu is a city where an MOU for scientific and technological cooperation between Korea and China was signed, and is a strategic region designated as the 'center of scientific and technological cooperation between Korea and China' by the Chinese government.
As a specialized center for entering China, Incheon Center has been operating various corporate support programs based on its network with major cities and institutions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Weihai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen. Through this renewal agreement, Incheon Center plans to enhance its support system for entering the western inland market of China centered on Chengdu.
In particular, the Incheon Center has been participating as the official Korean host organization in the largest global startup competition in the western region hosted by Chengdu City since 2024, and achieved the result of five representative Korean companies winning awards in 2023. Based on this, the Center plans to support Korean startups' entry into China and expansion of local partnerships through linkages with the 'Golden Panda Global Innovation Startup Competition' and the 'Korea-China-Japan Cultural Content Startup Competition'.
Lee Han-seop, CEO of Incheon Center, said, “It is very meaningful to continue our collaboration with Ssangchang Center,” and “We expect this agreement to become a strategic bridgehead for domestic startups hoping to enter the western Chinese market.”
