
Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Joo-Hyun Yoo) announced on the 2nd that as part of the 'Gyeongbuk Local Change-Up' project that seeks to recreate the value of the Gyeongbuk region and solve regional problems, it held an orientation for companies selected as local creators in 2025.
'Gyeongbuk Local Changeup' is a local startup fostering project jointly promoted by Gyeongbuk Province and Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center. It aims to discover sustainable business models through reinterpretation of local resources and contribute to revitalizing the local economy. This project is now in its third year.
Last year, a total of 19 companies were selected, recording sales of approximately KRW 2.076 billion, and achieving results in 37 intellectual property rights applications and registrations, government public offering projects, and investment attraction.
A total of 255 teams applied for this year's local creator recruitment, and 15 excellent companies were finally selected amidst a high competition rate of approximately 17:1. These companies have creative business models based on local resources in various fields such as local food, lifestyle, cultural space, and leisure tourism.
This orientation is designed to guide selected local creators through practical support programs that will be carried out over the next six months, including business financing, branding and marketing strategies, and sales channel development, as well as provide information and networking for successful business promotion.

An official from the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center said, “The Local Changeup project is an attempt to inject real vitality into the local business ecosystem,” and added, “We will spare no effort in providing various resources and networks so that local entrepreneurs can continue to grow.”
