Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as Daegu Center) held an official opening ceremony at Clutch Beta Campus on July 1st prior to the full-scale operation of the youth entrepreneurship support program '2025 CLUTCH (hereinafter referred to as Clutch)'.
Clutch is a customized program that supports the entire process from startup preparation to commercialization for young people under the age of 34, and aims to provide network formation, capacity building, and practical idea verification in stages. This year's program will be operated in three forms: ▲Clutch Day ▲Clutch League ▲Clutch CEO.
'Clutch Day' is a regular networking program held every Tuesday evening, providing opportunities for participating young people to present their startup ideas and develop them into concrete ideas through feedback. Education and study are also provided to enhance entrepreneurship capabilities.
'Clutch League' is a youth startup idea competition, open to prospective entrepreneurs under the age of 39 or early-stage entrepreneurs within the past 3 years. Participants will go through preliminary and final rounds to develop a concrete business plan, and have their ideas verified through IR (investment attraction presentation) on the final stage.
'Clutch CEO' is a program that selects two local youth representatives who will directly participate in the operation of Clutch. The selected individuals will participate in various activities such as business planning and promotion, and will also be provided with additional capacity building support such as mentoring.
The Clutch program began in the second half of 2020 and is now in its sixth year. A total of 4,118 people have participated in the program from 2020 to 2024, and approximately 500 startup ideas have been discovered. Jaehoon Lee, a prospective entrepreneur who participated as Clutch CEO last year, said, “I was able to concretize my ideas and achieve my startup goals through the collaborative experience at Clutch.”
According to the results of an internal survey conducted by the Daegu Center, the average satisfaction level with the program was 4.8 out of 5, and the re-participation rate was 98.2%.
Daegu Center Director Han In-guk said, “Youth entrepreneurship is a major factor in revitalizing the local economy,” and added, “We will actively support the continued expansion of the youth entrepreneurship ecosystem.”
Applications to participate in the Clutch Program can be made through the 'Clutch Us' page within the DASH platform, and anyone under the age of 34 who is interested in starting a business can apply, regardless of region.
