Sejong Center, Reventures-Sejong Innovation Growth Investment Fund Investment in 'Baekgyeong Distillery'

Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation announced on the 4th that it has selected Baek Kyung Distillery Co., Ltd. (CEO Chang-yoon Jeong), a traditional liquor manufacturer in the Sejong area, as the first investment target of the 'Reventures-Sejong Innovation Growth Investment Association No. 1' established in 2024, and has completed full-scale investment execution.

Baekkyung Distillery Co., Ltd. was selected as the first target company for this investment in recognition of its contribution to the local economy by developing premium traditional liquor using local agricultural products from the Sejong region.

Sejong Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as Sejong Center) has been supporting Baek Kyung Distillery Co., Ltd. in various ways, including brand development, production facility construction, and distribution channel expansion through local content support projects and investment linkage programs. This investment is an extension of this support.

In this investment, Sejong Center and Reventures (CEO Na-kyung Kim) participated as joint operators. Reventures has a history of numerous investments in the agricultural, food, and content sectors, and plans to support follow-up investments and nationwide brand expansion through expansion of Baek Kyung Distillery Co., Ltd.’s distribution network, development of functional products, and support for agricultural, food, and R&D.

The Sejong Center has made preemptive investments in early-stage companies based on regional strategic industries, and many companies have succeeded in linking with the TIPS program and attracting follow-up investments. The Center plans to continue to discover and foster companies with sustainable business models centered on key Sejong industries such as agriculture, food, deep tech, and AI, and to continuously create purpose-based funds.

Sejong Center CEO Oh Deuk-chang said, “As the traditional liquor industry utilizing local resources in Sejong is gradually becoming more competitive, Baek Kyung Distillery is a representative example of a local company,” and added, “Through this investment, we hope that the company will lay the foundation for expanding its nationwide distribution network and entering the global market.”
