GenGenAI (CEO Ho-jin Cho, GenGenAI) announced on the 4th that it has obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification, the international standard for AI management systems. This is the first case of official ISO/IEC 42001 certification among domestic generative AI companies, meaning that the company has established a governance and data responsibility system for the entire AI operation in accordance with international standards.
ISO/IEC 42001 is the first international standard to support the safe and ethical management of artificial intelligence technologies, including generative AI, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's National Institute of Standards and Technology is promoting the establishment of a national standard (KS) based on this in the first half of 2025.
Following initial investment from Naver D2SF, DSC Investment, etc., Zenzen AI has recently successfully secured strategic investments in the defense industry, including from Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), and has expanded its business area. It currently supplies high-quality synthetic data for AI learning and evaluation to major domestic defense companies and government-funded research institutes, and its technology is highly regarded both domestically and internationally.
This certification is an international case that proves that Zenzen AI has secured a system that can respond to industries that require advanced technological and institutional trust, such as defense and aerospace. It emphasizes the stability of all AI-based data processing, along with a total of six global certifications, including information protection (ISO/IEC 27001) and personal information protection (ISO/IEC 27701).
“GenGenAI is a rare case of actually implementing a data quality and risk management system across all management,” said Song Hyeong-rok, CEO of IQ Certification, which performed the ISO/IEC 42001 certification. “It is a company with a high-level AI governance system that meets international standards.”
Cho Ho-jin, CEO of Zenzen AI, said, “This certification is the result of formalizing quantitative control and a documented management system in the process of creating synthetic data,” and added, “We will further strengthen customer trust in the defense and aerospace fields, where the safety and consistency of AI technology are important, and use this as a foundation for expanding our global presence.”
