Cospo, 'Business Trip in Chungbuk' ends

Korea Startup Forum (Chairman Sang-Woo Han, hereinafter referred to as KOSPO) announced on the 7th that it had completed a business trip held in Chungcheongbuk-do (Governor Young-Hwan Kim) on the 3rd and 4th.

This event was held as part of COSPO's annual flagship membership program, the workshop and regional and global innovation ecosystem tour 'Business Trip'. About 80 people, including Chungbuk Governor Kim Young-hwan, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs Kim Soo-min, officials from the Chungbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center, Chungbuk-based startups, and COSPO members, attended the event and explored mutual exchanges and cooperation plans.

The business trip focused on the core issues presented by Chungcheongbuk-do Province, with startups from various fields such as mobility, population, healthcare, cultural content, SaaS/infrastructure, and social problem solving participating to solve regional problems. Beyond simple promotion or networking, startups proposed innovative technologies and services, and through discussions with provincial officials, they focused on establishing verification and collaboration models.

Participants participated in the 'Chungbuk Local Trip' to visit local sites such as Osong Station and Cheongju City Center, and then presented innovative solutions by group at the 'If I were the Governor' idea-thon held at the Cheongnamdae Love of Country Education and Culture Center. Deputy Governor for Political Affairs Kim Soo-min provided feedback on the policy proposals and supported the linking of entrepreneurs' ideas to policies.

At the 'COSPO x Chungbuk Future Talk' co-hosted by COSPO and Chungbuk Province, Governor Kim Young-hwan of Chungbuk Province attended and announced the innovation vision of Chungbuk Province, and Governor Kim and Chairman Han Sang-woo signed a business agreement to promote startups.

At the event, eight startup teams hoping to do business in the Chungcheongbuk-do region pitched. As a result of the evaluation, Easy Korea (CEO Kim Tae-woo) received the Chungcheongbuk-do Governor’s Award for excellence for its new concept current sensor and power device innovation, and Dajayo (CEO Nam Seong-jun) received the COSPO Chairman’s Award for excellence for its premium experience program based on the Cheongnamdae Heritage.

Through this business trip, Cospo plans to expand its member companies' regional presence, strengthen cooperation with Chungcheongbuk-do, and continue innovation activities in other regional bases such as Sejong, Busan, and Jeju.

Han Sang-woo, chairman of COSP, said, “This program, where startups experience the field and propose solutions based on tasks directly presented by the region, is a good example of a regional customized innovation model,” and added, “We will continue to support startup growth and regional economic development through demonstration-centered cooperation programs.”
