
Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Byeong-seon) announced on the 7th that investment company CareSix (CEO Kim Seong-hun) was finally selected for the general track of TIPS, a technology startup support program of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Companies selected for the TIPS general track will receive up to 500 million won in research and development funds over two years, and if selected for the startup commercialization and overseas marketing linkage program, they will receive an additional 300 million won in support.
Caresix Co., Ltd. is a pet tech company that develops disease monitoring systems for companion dogs and cats, and won two innovation awards in the wearable technology category at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA. It received seed investment from the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center in December of last year, and succeeded in attracting follow-up investment through the 'Shining Jeju Listed Company Promotion Fund No. 1' this year.
The company is currently developing and selling 'Sense 1 Vet', a surgical monitoring product for animal hospitals, and 'Sense 1 Guardian', a post-surgical recovery and chronic disease monitoring product, and with this TIPS selection, it plans to promote the development of 'Sense 1 Home', a pet home care product for general consumers.
'Sense 1 Home' is a wearable device that is attached to the pet's neck. It analyzes vital signs such as heart rate, respiration rate, body temperature, and electrocardiogram, as well as clinical signals such as urination, defecation, coughing, and movement, and has the function of notifying the guardian of any abnormal signs early. Joint research is also currently underway with Anicom, the number one pet insurance company in Japan.
An official from the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center said, “This TIPS selection will be an important opportunity for CareSix’s technology development and growth.”
